“The media construction of the political and territorial conflicts in Spain. Narratives and discourses’ is a research project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. The project calendar spans three years (2010-2013). The research group is composed by twelve researchers and leaded by Enric Castelló (Universitat Rovira i Virgili). The researchers participating in this project are working in universities in Spain, UK, Belgium and France.
The group is focused in the study of the media messages on the political conflict and is centred in a set of case studies, including the claims for independence or more autonomy of the Spanish regions, the (i)legalization of political parties, the regional tensions among communities, but also the cultural conflicts arising from topics like the bullfighting banning in Catalonia or the historical or artistic heritage.
